Dr. Jones graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Political Science, and then attended the UMKC School of Dentistry, finishing his DDS in 1977. He later earned a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and specialty certification in orthodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In addition to his practice here in Lawrence, Dr. Jones also is a clinical professor in the graduate orthodontic department at the UMKC School of Dentistry in Kansas City, Missouri. The first orthodontist in Lawrence to be certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the only orthodontic certifying board recognized by the American Dental Association, Dr. Jones has practiced clinical orthodontics in Lawrence since 1990.
Dr. Jones and his wife, Marsha, have two grown children, Greg Jones and Kristen Gill, along with a grandson, Treven Gill. He enjoys playing golf, gardening and serving on several committees at Lawrence First United Methodist Church. He also supports many local school athletic teams, Aquahawks, and of course enjoys attending as many Jayhawk athletic events as possible! In addition, Dr. Jones is a member of the 2005-2006 class of Leadership Lawrence and looks forward to serving Lawrence and/or Douglas County in addition to his clinical practice of orthodontics.
Andrea received her dental assisting certificate from Penn Valley Community College in May 2005 and has worked with Dr. Jones ever since. She is a treatment coordinator and assists her patients through every step of treatment.
Andrea was born and raised in Lawrence. Some of her interests include spending time at the lake, cooking and watching movies.
